The Copywriter
  May 2007

Dear %CUST1%,

We can’t quite believe it’s already May! The first part of the year has been busy with corporate reports but we are now working on a number of re-branding exercises including name generation and strapline work. More and more we’re being asked to get involved at the beginning of a project, advising on concept and themes which we feel helps towards the smooth running of a project and the quality of the communications.

Jack Craze

We’d like to welcome a new member to our team of writers. Jack Craze worked as an in-house copywriter for a top design agency, specialising in social and environmental projects. He has a strong background in writing campaign communications for Government, not-for-profit organisations and NGOs. Jack was responsible for the DBA’s Little Pointers copy (look out for them in the post) which has been really well received.

WRAP

We have been on the roster for WRAP for over a year now and continue to regularly write articles for www.recyclenow.com. To add to our extensive portfolio, we can announce that we are writing the 2006/7 Achievement Report. Jeremy Stratton is heading the project, offering strategic advice as well as doing the writing.

Design Business Association (DBA)

Over the last few months, since we sponsored an award at the Design Effectiveness awards, we have been building a relationship with the DBA. So they asked us to write the copy for their Little Pointers campaign, which highlights some of the benefits of being part of the DBA. We initially wrote copy for six postcards and then tweaked it to fit in with the ads that will be shown in Design Week over the next few weeks. We are also contributing to ‘How to write a Design Effectiveness Awards paper’ workshop which you can attend if you are a DBA member.

WHSmith

We’ve been having lots of fun writing packaging copy for WHSmith. Each product needed to come alive so our writer generated a number of different product headlines and packaging copy options. The work was really well received and more projects are to follow.
